Privacy Policy

The short version

Cruising Costs does not require an account or financial-account connection for its core calculator. Calculator values, Budget Fit entries, saved estimates, and preferences are designed to remain on your device unless you deliberately use a sharing or support feature. Kestrel Exams LLC does not sell personal information for monetary payment.

Information stored on your device

The calculator may store current values, saved estimates, Budget Fit entries, language and display preferences, and other app settings in browser or app storage on your device. Entering or saving those values does not, by itself, send them to Kestrel Exams LLC.

You can remove local information with controls such as Clear saved estimates and reset controls, by clearing the site or app storage, or by uninstalling the app. We cannot retrieve or delete information that exists only on your device because we do not possess it.

Shared estimates

If you choose to share a saved or current estimate, Cruising Costs can create a URL containing selected calculation assumptions so that the scenario can be reopened. Private Budget Fit income and expense fields are excluded from shared-result links.

Review a shared estimate before sending it. When a shared URL is opened, the web host necessarily receives the requested URL and standard request information, so do not place information you consider sensitive into a scenario you intend to share.

Network connections and technical data

The web version is delivered through hosting infrastructure that may process ordinary technical request information needed to serve, secure, and troubleshoot the site, such as IP address, browser or device information, timestamps, requested paths, and basic diagnostic data.

Some branding images may be loaded from an external content-delivery network when a local visual asset is unavailable. That content-delivery network may receive standard request data such as your IP address, browser or device information, and the asset requested. Core financial calculations do not require those visual assets.

The current Cruising Costs calculator source does not include an advertising SDK or analytics SDK. If that changes, this policy and the applicable store privacy disclosures must be updated before the changed behavior is released.

Support and information you choose to submit

If you contact support, the information you enter in the contact form is transmitted so Kestrel Exams LLC can respond, investigate a problem, address accessibility feedback, or maintain an appropriate support record. Cruising Costs currently uses Kestrel Exams LLC’s existing A Wandering Mind contact form for this purpose.

Do not send passwords, Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, full payment-card numbers, or other highly sensitive information through a support message. The contact form is also governed by the A Wandering Mind Privacy Policy for the form and hosting services used there.

Retention and deletion

On-device calculator information remains until you clear it, clear the site/app storage, or uninstall the app. Information intentionally submitted through support may be retained as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, protect the service, maintain business records, resolve disputes, or comply with law. Retention can vary by record type and service provider.

To request access to or deletion of information that you intentionally submitted to Kestrel Exams LLC, use the Cruising Costs Support page. If the information exists only on your device, use the local deletion controls described above.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal information that a business holds about you. You may submit a privacy request through Support. If we cannot identify or access the information because it exists only on your device, we will explain that limitation.

Cruising Costs does not require precise location permission for the current calculator. It does not automatically enroll you in marketing messages.

Children’s privacy

Cruising Costs is a general-audience financial planning utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13 through the calculator.

Security

Local calculator information is protected primarily by your device, browser, and operating-system security controls. Network pages are intended to be served over HTTPS. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Cruising Costs evolves. The date at the top of this page will change when the policy is revised. Material changes to data practices should be reflected in the app and applicable store disclosures before release.
